You bring out the beast in me. I fell in love from the moment we kissed, Since then we've been history. They say that love is forever, But your forever is all that I need. Emelia pranced through a field just a couple feet away from the woods. She loved running around, even if it was for no reason. It just delighted her and sent beautiful tingly feelings up her spine. If someone had seen her they would've thought the girl was deaf, dumb, and blind. Emie managed too fall down a matter of ten times before giving up on running and falling to the soft untouched grass and dirt of a small hill. Little red five petaled flowers covered it. The same flowers that covered the outskirts of Symphony Kingdom. Emie stared at the sky. She had never ventured farther than the lake or hunting grounds, she hadn't even seen a glimpse of the outside world. This bugged her for some reason.
It sent painful longings to her gut, and set her mood to a not so delighted phase. Emie made a pact with herself i will see it one day, i promise myself. She wasn't always gonna be so naive about the world, and she knew it. When she was more mature she could escape here and explore for as long and as far as she wanted. She couldn't wait for that day. Emelia started to tingle with humbleness again. A smile even graced her lips. She destroyed the grass in one small circular patch, picking one by one out of the ground and tearing each strand to multiple little pieces.
Her head shot up as some birds flew up in the woods. In no time at all she was in her shifter form. It could happen within a snap of the finger. Emelia stared in the direction of the birds, her mouth parted taking in any scents she could. In her cat form she had more intense senses. She could feel people on the ground, and hear much better, not to mention her eyesight improved greatly.
Then Emelia darted in the direction of the disturbance. Her black and orange body a blur of color to anyone watching. She was agile, and small. Being a shifter into a domesticated cat wasn't that bad. At least for a small quiet girl who liked to run away a lot. It had it's pros and cons, but mostly pros for Emelia.
Emelia clawed her way up a somewhat small tree and perched herself on a branch, she was almost positive this had been where the birds were. She watched acutely for any sign of another person or creature. If it was someone she knew she wouldn't be alone out here, and she would be at ease, if it was someone she didn't know, she was gonna be stuck in that tree for quite awhile.

He felt so...at ease here. So much safer than the village. In fact he was working with a florist in the village, hoping to save up enough money to build a house in the woods. Something nice and comfortable, not too big. All he really needed was a shelter. It had occurred to him several times that he could just command his friends to do it for him. However, he didn't like to abuse his power. The plants were his friends, not his slaves. That was the other reason he wanted to leave the village so badly. Ever since the prince had become king he had known he had to leave the village as quickly as possible. If anyone was going to be thrown into slavery it was him. He was poor and shy, defenseless for the most part.
He shook his head softly, his smile gaining strength. Suddenly a vine grew from the ground and lovingly wrapped itself around Lance's hand. Many people assumed that Lance controlled the plant life around him, like a mad-scientist controlled his Frankenstein. However, this wasn't true. It was more like plants reacted to Lance; like a harlot reacting to a good looking man. The plants loved him and carried out his wishes out of love, not out of force. Lance's smile grew and he gave the vine a gentle squeeze, like he would if he were holding the hand of a lover. Suddenly, he felt a pain ripple through him. It was the same feeling he had felt when his father had ripped up his very first plant. Real men don't garden!
Luckily, his father had left the village when he was still a child. Now he was a man and he lived his life as he pleased, with his mother's blessing. Still, he had felt the pain as if it was him his father was ripping apart. This pain seared through him now. It felt as if he were being ripped in half, completely obliterated. As the pain surged through him a feral scream left his lips and the plants around him, the trees, the bushes, even the grass, seemed to shake with the power of his pain. This caused a murder of crows, which had been seated in one of the disturbed trees, took flight. The sound caused Lance to drop to the ground. Birds. One of his many fears.
He had his knees under his stomach, his head tucked in with his arms over his head. Tears flowed down his eyes as he shook in fear and pain. Vines with thorns crawled out of the ground, moving like the tentacles of a great beast. They created a protective shield around him, protecting him from the world. Within his cocoon of thorns grew beautiful flowers. The plants were trying to comfort him, show him that he was safe and everything was okay. [/scrolly] |

Her eyes darted back and forth at every little spot of brush beneath here. Then one plant caught her attention. It was an unfriendly looking bush. Thorns pointing out in every direction possible, this wasn't uncommon, but the little spots of color on the inside were. Most bushes didn't have flowers that only bloomed towards the inside. Plus this thorny plant wasn't even common in this part of the woods, or known to be a bush. Emelia cocked her feline face to the side and sat up.
Her eyes dilated with curiosity and she leaped from the tree branch all her limbs sturdy for the landing. She slowly walked towards the plant, she didn't take her eyes off of the bush, but she kept everything within her vision generally looking at it all, the forests, dark spots in the trees, everything. Emelia was on guard the whole time, she moved very stiffly, her tail not even casually sliding from side to side.
She sniffed the thorns her whiskers poking through some of the little holes in the bush. Emelia placed one paw lightly on the bush to see if the thorns were harmful. She barely let her pad touch the end of an inch long thorn before there was blood trickling down the brown thorn. She quickly licked her paw and let out a little mew of pain. She shut her eyes and licked her paw several times trying to soothe the pain. Her mind had been sidetracked from the bush.

He had always had a soft spot for animals. Anything that was living and wasn't human really. Plants had a special place in his heart. The thorns seemed reluctant to move, though I can't tell you how they portrayed such a thing, being only plants. After a moment though the thorns began to retreat. Lance slowly sat up, a hand moving up to wipe the tears from his face. Before him sat a beautiful house cat, licking gracefully at one of her paws. Lance frowned. His beloved plants had hurt this gorgeous creature. Suddenly, grief flooded his veins.
Awe. I'm so sorry. Did....did my plants hurt you? They can be so protective sometimes. Lance spoke softly, love in his voice naturally. His brilliant blue eyes sparkled with concern. He reached out a hand, but then thought better of it and slowly brought it back to him. He sat back on his heels, hands in his lap. Suddenly, Lance felt nervous and unsure of himself. Ridiculous really. It wasn't worth all the fear he felt. After all this was just a pretty kitty before him. The mixture of the mysterious pain and the murder of crows had been enough to shake him up. Someone somewhere had hurt a plant and it had, in turn, hurt him. So, the pain wasn't truly all that mysterious. Not really.
He reached up to wipe away another stray tear that was trying to escape down his cheek. He already knew from experience that if his tears hit the soul his friends would be very upset. They only wanted him to be happy, which meant a lot to the raven-haired man. There was only one person in the world who had ever cared about him the way his friends had; his mother. And now she was very sick. Most of the time she couldn't remember where she was or who Lance was. Shaking his head softly Lance turned his attention back to the pretty little cat who had hurt herself on his plants. |

Emelia hadn't noticed that the bush was gone till she heard a soft voice. Her head shot up, she cam eye to eye with a blue eyed boy. Emelia couldn't do anything but stare into his eyes, it was like they were made just for her enjoyment. They fascinated her, she knew they were hers.
As reality flooded back to Emelia she looked at the rest of the boy, her eyes flicking here and there to examine each part of his body. Then his words flooded back into here ears, his plants? did they listen to him? had he been inside of that awful bush? thoughts of curiosity raced through her head. She wanted to know more about him. Emelia pulled herself away from her thoughts to see the blue eyed boys hand reach out towards her. She jumped back instinctively showing that she had no problem with running away if he was gonna do anything but be nice to her.
As he pulled his hand back she sat down, tucking her paws underneath her tail. She sat straight up, Emelia's eyes till glued to the boys. She also noticed a little glistening clear drop make its way down his cheek. Even tears from this boy were beautiful to her. Why is he crying? she tilted her head to the side as if she was asking him a question. It would take a really special boy to notice that it had been a gesture of communication.
Emelia wondered if it would startle him to much to change back into a human. She didn't want to be known as a cat for the rest of her life to this boy, she wanted to be something more, but she didn't want to scare him away either. Emelia moved closer to him, not with uneasiness but with curiosity. When she reached about a foot away from the raven haired boy she rolled over onto her back, contorting her body every which way, it made her look absolutely adorable and not intimidating, not that a female house cat was intimidating in anyway, she just didn't have pleasant thoughts about the thorny bush popping back up out nowhere, and didn't want it to show up again.

She was a pretty little thing. He'd always like cats. They were much quieter than dogs, who made him nervous with their loud barks. He was much more of a cat person than a dog person, that was for sure. He smiled as she sat down. She was so graceful, so elegant. Just like one might expect a cat to be. He loved it. It was the exact reason he loved living things. Non-human living things anyway. Most people would probably have been unnerved by the way the cat was starring at him. It did quite the opposite for Lance. It comforted him, made him feel important for some reason. Like someone actually cared about him. Of course, this was ridiculous. No one would care about him. He wasn't worth caring about.
As her head tilted to the side he mirrored the action, more subconscious than not. What is it, sweetie? You're a curious kitty. Aren't you? He spoke softly, but at least he spoke. This was more than Lance normally spoke to strangers. It was probably the fact that this was a cat that made the difference. He felt more at ease around this cat. Then again he felt more at ease around most animals. His smile grew, becoming slightly goofy, as the kitty came closer to him. Oh, look at you. You're so brave. He whispered, giggling gleefully as she flipped over onto her back gracefully. She wriggled like a kitten in need of affection as Lance straightened his head.
Is it okay if I pet you? I bet you're really soft. As Lance began to feel more at ease so did his plant-life. Soon the trees were parting their leaves to allow sunlight down to the boy and his feline companion. The grass turned a brighter shade of green as flowers began to slowly bloom around the cat. The raven-haired young man reached his hand out slowly. Just as he was about to touch the feline's stomach the unthinkable happened. In the village a man was taking his anger out on a bush that was obviously in his way. Pain surged through Lance and he let out a pained whimper. The flowers that had been lovingly blooming around the feline in his company shriveled and died. The trees' leaves not only blotted out the sky the limbs turned down, toward the ground, as if protecting Lance with these leaves. The grass around him and the cat began to turn a pathetic yellow-green color.

The little fur ball purred as Lance's hand neared her soft brown tummy. Emelia was so happy, being in this boys presence brightened her day to no end. Her heart filled with so much comfort and warmth that she managed to change to her human form, she could feel lances fingers centimeters away from her skin. It gave her goosebumps, her eyes were shut so she hadn't noticed herself. She didn't notice the change until her teethe clenched her lower lip between them. This was not something a cat did, in the instant she noticed her change her eyes shot open. Then it was like hell broke loose.
Emelia changed back quickly and braced the ground with all twenty claws. Her head whipped back and fourth, she was over whelmed by all the change in the plants, and all the different noises they made in the process of it all. She couldn't help but wriggle her way into the boys arm's to escape all the fury. She buried her face as far into his chest as she possibly could. Emelia liked him a lot more than the forest right now, and chose being with him rather than to flee.

The cat became a girl. Now, Lance had lived in Symphony all his life. He knew that the kingdom was infused with magic. It was everywhere. It was in the air he breathed, on the earth he walked on. Everywhere. It was the reason his friends loved him and they could show him their love. So, it wasn't at all like Lance had never seen anything like a cat turning into a woman. Still, it startled him, causing him to jump back. This sudden fear in him caused an uproar in the plants around him. The grass shriveled and died. By now the pain had passed, thank goodness. The trees around them turned their leaves away from them and thorny vines poked up, as if threatening to get involved if necessary.
Lance blinked as the girl turned into a cat again, obviously terrified. Before he knew what she was doing the feline....woman...feline was sitting in his lap, head pressed against his chest. He instinctively began petting her, holding her close to him. It took him a moment to realize that she was scared of the plants around them. This made him laugh, cheering up the plants. The grass turned green again, the thorny vines retreated back into the ground. Flowers that shouldn't have bloomed in autumn began pushing their way through the soil. You're not a regular kitty cat, are you? Well, that's okay. I guess I'm not a normal boy. My friends keeping scaring you. I'm really sorry about that. The plants tend to be protective of me. They won't hurt you though. I promise. As he spoke Lance's big blue eyes were turned down at the feline, smiling.

Emelia looked up at the blue eyed boy purring, his voice thudded in the bottom of his chest lightly, she could feel his voice. It was comforting, and new. She had never heard someone as soft voiced as she. She arched her back into his hand each time it slid over her slender body. Emelia couldn't help but enjoy every second of his touch. He was like a really weird guardian angel. As she realized that the plants were on his side, Emie started to look around. Everything was brilliant and beautiful again, like it had been only moments ago.
Emelia decided that it would be safe to change back, before her mind had processed that she was still on the boys lap, she changed to her human form. Her legs sliding off of his lap spread out to the side of him. She wrapped her arms around his ivory neck to keep from falling, for she was barely sitting on his knee, her butt barely hanging off the side. Her eyes glued to his face, and she felt a surge of nervousness pass through her gut. She had never been this close to a boy. Her face was a mere four inches from his. Emelias mind worked through multiple scenerios of what could happen, the one she expected most was for him to push her off and call her weird, but she hoped that some where deep inside that this boy shared her fascination for him, only viceversa.

He suddenly hoped his Mama was alright. Then again it didn't matter too much right now. After all, he had a beautiful cat sitting in his lap, purring like her little life depended on it. Suddenly, he felt like if he could harness the happiness he heard in that purring he could hand it to the prince and he would feel so happy he wouldn't need to enslave the princess the way he was. Lance felt so sad for her. She was so beautiful. In fact, many people said she was the most beautiful woman in the whole kingdom. Symphony was lucky to have her. Still, he couldn't help but think of the quick glimpse of the girl he had seen. The girl the cat had momentarily turned into. Then he couldn't help but think that she was more beautiful then the princess.
As he continued to stroke the cats fur he realized a couple of things. Firstly, the little kitty was suddenly a bit heavier than he had thought she was. Secondly, her fur felt strangely like....skin...? He shook his head, his raven-colored hair glistening in the sunlight. She was....he blinked for a moment. Nope she was still there. The cat was a woman again. Wow. This was quickly becoming rather confusing. What was more shocking was that the girl was....well, she was naked! Lance felt his hand against the warmth of her skin. He felt the bones of her spine pressing against his hand. Her skin was so soft. So familiar. That was odd seeing as he had never met this woman before in his life.
Suddenly he realized how naked she was. For a moment though her big beautiful eyes caught his attention. She was so close. Lance felt her shift slightly on his lap, causing him to be painfully aware of her womanly attributes. Suddenly he had the warm-blooded urge to kiss her. He was aware of how close their lips were to each other, how easy it would be just to lean forward and feel them pressed against his own. However, Lance had always been a gentleman. He could never kiss a lady like her. She was so beautiful. She deserved a real man. Wow. That seemed like a really random thought. Shaking his head softly he felt his face getting warmer as he looked at the girl on his lap.
Appalled by this insensitivity on his part Lance looked down at the ground beside him. Oh, I'm terribly sorry, Miss. Here. Still not looking at the gorgeous girl on his lap Lance carefully took his shirt off, making every attempt not to disturb the amazing girl before him. Once it was off he offered it to the young lady, still not daring to look in her direction. [/scrolly] |
