Melissa Francis Clark 21 - Pronounced Dead - Quirky Melissa isn't the sort of girl to be screaming and kicking in the night, in fact, if you didn't know she was in an asylum, you wouldn't know she was crazy. Friendly and warm, Melissa likes to greet the new kids, and is known amongst a lot of the inhabitants. Melissa takes on the appearance of an Elf in Symphony Kingdom.
Friends Melissa loves to be there for people, she thinks it gives her a purpose, and it makes her feel like she's a drawing given colour. For this reason she likes to surround herself with friends, and will do almost anything for the people close to her. Melissa will talk to just about anyone, providing that they aren't evil. She gets on particularly well with other elves.
- "Ema isn't so bad, she's nice to talk to when you meet her. Eventually. Kind of. We had a bit of a bumpy start, but I guess we grew on one another." Jairo Trent - "Jairo is a pretty nice guy. Unique name, unique personality. We get on really well though. I like him." Cosette Nightingale - "As quiet as she is, as soon as she opens up a bit she's a real laugh. I'm determined to wake her out of that shell some more." [/ul] Enemies Melissa may not seem like the type of girl to dislike someone, but no one is perfect. She's both jealous and irritable on her bad days, and bothering her on one of those days can buy you a spot on her naughty list. Melissa may rub you the wrong way, or she may not be able to get on with you. Her way of functioning may be too different, or you may have done something to tick her off. [/ul] Romance Romance? Melissa has never had the time or experience to consider getting into something like that. She's had her drunk mistakes, and she has had her fair share of crushes. But perhaps that's not the case - maybe Melissa's been stalking your character with a romantic motive. Or maybe your character has been up to something. [/ul] Other Got something that can't be put into the above categories? Is it so obscure and bizarre that we can't possibly title it under any of the above? No!? Well shoot, it'll just go below. - "Marlowe is... Unsettling, to say the least. He just seems to see something in me I feel like I should be hiding."Paul Tyler - "Ty can do a good job of scaring me, that is all I have to say. I wanna be his friend, and get to know him but.. Progress is slow."[/ul][/blockquote][/blockquote][/div] 8080FF - SUICIDE 4040FF - DRUG USE blue - ALCOHOL USE 3300BF - DEPRESSION 660080 - DIVORCE 800060 - MENTAL INSANITY 990040 - PRONOUNCED DEAD C00 - DOCTORS 660000 - NURSES 330000 - GENERAL STAFF[/img]

MELLOW AND MARLISSANow I'll tell you what we have here that I've yet to cash in on; Marlowe is a Djinn in Symphony form, a genie, this you already know, you clever clever girl, you! -- More to the point it means he's either tied to a place or an item until someone sets him free then we have the whole charade of reluctant servant granting wishes yada yada... ... I really can't think of anyone better to dig him out. Marlowe is the type who strongly believes that anyone who isn't a stark raving lunatic on the surface MUST MUST MUUUSSSTTT be hiding something. He's also frightfully curious and intent on knowing and understanding how 'the human condition' plays on each set individual... Melissa's 'friendliness and normality' will be to him what a rubix cube is to every kid in the eighties; 'can I crack it in record time?' >:3 He'll want to MESS with her head, get in through the cracks in her personality and worm his way under her skin... to tap at her veins until something distinctly awful and awfully distinctive comes out. He'll want to know exactly what makes Melissa Melissa... I'm not entirely sure why his reaction to her differs to how it does other people, I think it COULD be the prospect of meeting someone else that is as 'into' other folk as he is. He knows his reasons, desperation, anxiety, fear of rejection and the void emptiness to name a few... but what about her? Somehow understanding her equates to understanding a deeper part of himself in the tangled twine ball of his brain, maybe if he can figure her out he can fix her. Maybe he can fix himself? -- I don't believe they'll have a comfortable relationship, but I can't say for sure how he'll react to her until I see it first hand... I just get this underlying sensation of watchfulness and suspicious curiosity from him in regards to Melissa every time her name crops up. 'There MUST be more... I must know...'I don't know... *flails* if they wouldn't already end up with an interesting and complex kind of relationship, he'll sure as hellfire make it one! >.> What do you feel? What would she get from him? This loud little loonie

Melissa and Marlowe
Why must your ideas be so damn perfect!?
I think that Marlowe's digging around or questioning would be able to get some real issues surfacing. Perhaps her issues with her mother, her attachment issues to her dad, and her anger issues too.
I love his/your reasoning behind him though. I'm not sure how Mel would react if she knew that, though. She might be a bit awkward, or perhaps even a bit offended that he, if you'll excuse the term, was using her to try and figure himself out. But for the most part I definitely agree, comfortable won't be something to be described about the two. Perhaps a bit uncomfortable, actually. xD Mel would probably be worried, anxious and bent out of shape when he's around trying to figure her out. Especially considering she wants a smooth 'I'm a knight in shining armour' sort of front to keep herself strong in front of people. I doubt doubt that Marlowe would be able to find the chinks in her armour and expose a couple of weaknesses, I imagine.
So I must know, would you like to get these two in action some time?

Without a moments doubt! (Also burrreaaauuutifully put about the armour! Love me a couple of delicious metaphors! <3) I love the idea that their relationship wont be an easy one, Mel spends all her time looking after other people and questioning, peering past their masks, eyeballing their truer selves... it would be a bizarre change to have Marlowe mirror that behaviour onto herself.... I imagine things to be quite intense between them... On the other side of the coin, he gets Downswings (Alllllwwaayyys capitalized >.> for eek purposes! ) and tends to close in on himself, goes through waves of passive suicidal tendencies, that is to say he becomes a reclusive, easily startled, self abusive, closed off little monster with little care if he lives or dies. If she needs an excuse to polish that armour back up to it's glowing trophy cabinet state; there it is. He'd be sorely grateful for the help, probably not at the time mind you, but he's a broken toy in need of much fixings! How do we want to start? I have a few ideas; Marlowe is a watchful, curious thing, if he catches her greeting a newbie he'll sit on the banister of the stairs and, well, stare Wait for her to finish her piece, bleed the situation out for as much information as it'll give, tallying up a checklist of questions for her, before catching her arm on her way out kind of thing... I'd need you to get the ball rolling, but that's what I got! ^^' So... um... yeah! If you fancy Marlowe and I would be delighted to play with Mel! <3

Melissa and Marlowe
Oh ho, well thank you! I'm glad to hear that you approve. I love this idea so much. It's really good to get, as you say, friction between characters. I love how your mind can bake up some interesting plots, too. -Shiny eyes- Multi-talented Jawbone, everyone!
Anyway, enough with the flattery. ;)
I pretty much agree with everything. Should Marlowe go into an 'Downswing', Melissa would be there at his side, regardless of how he has treated her or what he has said to her in the past. She'd leap to his side and just be there for him, however he behaves or whatever he does, she'd want to be there and prove to herself that she can still be a ray of sunshine in an otherwise gloomy world, or an asylum. :P
Well, Melissa would love to play. Your idea sounds pretty much like you've nailed it. Melissa would be stood about, greeting a new kid, pointing out who to avoid and where is a safe place, and if she caught Marlowe staring at her or watching, she'd smile, wave and wonder 'who's that?'. Then forget about it. Uuuuntil he crops up again with his questions. 'Where have I seen you before?' yada yada and then yes! Action! Funness! c:
So, if we were to thread these two out, who would you like to start?
